Wow!
Today I was reading Heuvelmann's tome and in it he mentions tarsirs. For the uninitiated, these are the tiniest of primates, from the Philippines - and the most carnivorous of all primates, actually.
They have *really big* eyes (see:
But Heuvelmann mentions that they can long jump up to 2 metres and high jump up to 2 feet. For a hand-sized biter, that's astonishing.

These little critters come down at night to scavenge through the littter for insects. They are very delectable so are sitting ducks for a hunter with a torch and a waddy. Sadly the tarsiers are on the way to extinction in the wild, I believe they are found only on the island of Bohol. Philippines. Sad about that. Wally
