I have a friend who has studied the gbig bush cats for many years a nd when a circus is in town he makes a point of talking at length about the big cats, their habits, reactions annd the such. While talking to a cat handler and watching a jaguar. The man remarked that the cat was dangerous and asked my friend to pay arrention to where the cat was looking. It was looking at the man's chest, and his heartbeat had it's attention.

Darn it. Could it be that when persons have a fright and the heart accellerates, the sound of the heart can instigate a charge. I would like to try this out one day, with the cat on the other side of a fence of course. There have been numerous encounters with big bush cat annd peoples hearts have raced, and also a few close up encounters with TC s where personns invo;ved would have shown fright. Are our local big bush denizens so good natured they have no desire to attack. The only times I have encountered an agro cat is when she had kittens and then it was all show to persuade me and others to leave the areas.

This is getting tedious.
As I was saying the cat charged the vehicle and it lurched violently. I and others are of the opinion that this animal was a black leopard that an opal buyer living in Andamooka had as a deterrent It turned agro and was bushed. Some stock was killed on Andamooka station then it crossed Lake Torrens and I saw it on the East side. I was shooting rabbits and it followed me and kangaroo shooters around eating the discarded parts and innards. When I get to the zoo I will try out the attention of the cats by thumping my chest, see if they pay any attention or get agitated to an accelerated thumping. Great fun at a zoo, click the tongue and the kangarooos go crazy, ka ka ka to the possums and they all wake up to investigate. Best of all is blowing through my cupped hands and start the dingos howling, lot of head scratching over that. Great fun at the zoo Wally
