Terrible head lizard? That thing was contemporary with erythrosuchids... (I guess the bobble head looks less funny if You are at the receiving side of the business end)

I find myself wondering what are those long spines that seem to attach to Dinocephalosaurus' neck. Part of the skeleton? Or wire reinforcements to hold the block together?

I find myself wondering what are those long spines that seem to attach to Dinocephalosaurus' neck. Part of the skeleton? Or wire reinforcements to hold the block together? I was wondering if they were part of the skeleton and were spines that might have supported a membrane like a frill neck or even "wings" that enabled gliding.
