Wahoo! So, must be 10 days ago now, I bought a Spectrum Analyser from the 'States. Then I was notified it had been delivered to some random po box in Illinois and was waiting for me to come and pick it up. 🤦♂️ Okaaay. From Victoria to Illinois? When I queried the matter, turned out they gave me the wrong tracking number. Rejoice! 😺 Latest word is, the parcel has departed Chicago and is presumably, right now as we speak, in-the-air on its way to the Land Downunder. 🌏 Haven't actually got it yet but the signs look promising ... * Why a Spectrum Analyser? Well. Ive wanted one for years and this is a Xmas present from me-to-me. 🎁 Besides, I'm working on RF remote control but finding no success whatsoever. My PicoScope only goes up to 50MHz while my SDR shows nothing coming out of the RF modules at the design frequencies (315MHz). Question is, is the damn CCT working .. or not? A spec analyser should reveal all.

Wahoo #2! Latest word is, the item arrived in Melbourne late Friday night/early Satdy morning. If all goes well, should have it by Monday ... 👍
* But then again.

Ta. Latest from Ozzie Post is, it's 'expected this Monday/Tuesday'.
Hmm. 3 days from Chicago to Melbourne; 8 days to leave Melbourne depot.

It ARRIVED !!!!! Amazingly, incredibly on a Sunday!
Whatever, 'tis most frabjous. 👍
Okaay, in my technical opinion based upon years of unhappy experience, the first thing to do is ... ... READ the INSTRUCTIONS.
Once that's done and (hopefully) I have it working, I'll post some pics of the lab setup. 🤞

Yeah, I'd like to see photos of your lab.

Ok, I'll rustle up some pics.
* The new gizmo, the Spectrum Analyzer, works as advertised.
** But I'm still not finding success with these R/C modules I'm experimenting with.

Okay, the gizmo works well. I have an SDR (an AirSpy) tuned to ~128MHz: there's a whole bunch of narrow band CW signals around there to test kit with. The Spectrum Analyser (tinySA Ultra) picks them up but shows only a broad peak at that frequency - I probably have its BW set too wide. Still learning to drive it.
And the LCD? Output from an Arduino-RF module test board. As can be seen - nuthin'.

That looks nice, neat and clean.I had a picture in my mind that included large old pieces of equipment. I guess it's been too long since I've touched any electronics.
