I came down with a urinary tract infection which is so bad, I was badly confused and was too weak to get out of bed. I called emergency services (911), the hospital kept me for four days, and then sent me to a short-term rehabilatation facility. They're giving a liquid antibiotic once per day, and won't be finished until Dec 15. I asked them for a four-hour leave of absence so I could come home to pay some bills. I have another 90 minutes before I'm supposed to return to the rehab facility.

Bit worried about friend Vince, I emailed him last week to see how he was going and don't seem to have a reply yet, he must be still in hospital

I'm OK. They finished the final dose of antibiotic yesterday, so I expected to be released yesterday, however the wheels of the nursing facility administration turn exceedingly slowly. I have good reason to believe they'll release me tomorrow. Time will tell.
I'm on another leave of absence, so I'll be returning soon after I finish with this.

Excellent news, Vince. 👍 Expect you been chattin' up the nurses by this stage? If you saw these nurses, you would not think of chatting them up. They're all middle aged at least. One brought her grand-daughter in to show her around. They're all good nurses and good people, but not chat-worthy. 😜 |

They finally discharged me at 1:25 PM today. Now it's time to heal a little more before my urologist starts poking around down there to assess the situation.

Take Dr Den's advice for urinary infections; eat blueberries and drink single malt scotch. (I recommend stuff to my wife all the time but she just says, "You're Not that type of doctor.")
