There's a 4.5kg (10lb) sledge in the garden shed. Yeah, I can lift it 💪. And swing it, maybe, uh ... 3 times. Max.

The academic paper is here --> The 'knobby' end of the axe sure looks like it was meant to be gripped by a big hand. A seriously BIG hand .. Excluding internet-folklore about 'Sons of God', 'ancient Aliens' and stuff, it's intriguing that the time-frame for giants like these dovetails nicely with known episodes of interbreeding among Homo saps and cousin species ... As we know, hybrids sometimes are giants and often are more resilient/stronger than either parent. Think mules, zebroids & ligers ... So, you have to ask: does the Bible story of 'giants in the Earth' encode humanity's race-memories of real creatures? And did the stone-axe pictured above belong to one of them?

I know my brother did a lot of research into giants, there was also some interesting finds reported in NZ such a long way from other sites. I was never too convinced about many of the claims but even today we have a lot of quite tall people who might have at one stage been considered giants. I had a couple of brothers worked for me years ago the short one was 6'11" the other clocked 7'. When you get older with a bit of age shrinkage, especially me with some osteopenia in the spine I am now down to about 5'4"; they are all giants. I even have a couple of grandsons 6'5" and 6'6" - too many goy genes. Some of the granddaughters are close to 6' and complain that there are too many short guys.

commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Galloglass-circa-1521.jpgDürer was usually drawing from life, but could anybody with clinical acromegaly (those feet!) really endure the hardships of renaissance warfare? Maybe they were sideshow performers hired for some carnevalistic parade in a continental European city, where Dürer saw them?

A lot of sports people (football and basketball in particular) are over 6'. Also the average height is increasing in each generation, possibly due to better nutrition.

On the other hand, this might be soziology, not anthropology: The sons of god (i.e. the descendants of the pastoralist Seth) came upon the daughters of man (i.e. the descendents of the agriculturalist Kain)"and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown", in othher words, those who could unite the productivity of farming and the warlike nature of the nomadic herder became the founders of the first kingdoms and proto-states.
