You'd have to say, sci-fi back in the 1950s was humongously more original/creative than anything Hollywood turns out today.
I mean in terms of themes & ideas.

Agreed these days everything is more technology oriented whereas the 1950's sci-fi was more biologically oriented. Maybe the conspiracy mob are right and those in power are trying to prepare us for an invasion by technological advanced aliens? Nah probably not.

Yes, that's very true. We were also less "sophisticated" and jaded back then, so we appreciated good horror fiction more than we do now.
