A familiar story, perhaps? In later times the Indian subcontinent took a deadly toll among British soldiers and colonial administrators. Apart from microbes, simply an unfamiliar physical environment leads to health issues among immigrants. eg Negroes in North America. Dark skin protects against UV in the tropics but leads to Vitamin D deficiency in temperate climes. Which is why White races are white. Then there's sickle cell anaemia. eg Europeans in tropical Australia. Beware sSkin cancer.
