Now here is something new. I was discussing placing the camera at Port Augusta and mentioned how my vocaliser after 4 years of sitting in a box seemed to be all systems go but was quite dumb. With regards to decoying wildlife he told me that his lad with some pals camped out for a night S from PA. As can be expected the sun set and it got dark. They switched on their fluro lantern and bats started to come into their camp and were landing on them. Then bats came in a swarm so they got into their bags and pulled their heads in to repel the bat "attack". On hearing about this my friend decided to give it a go himself and found that when he lit the fluro , bats came in a swarm, big bats, little bats and middle sized bats. There were some real woppers and I pricked my ears up at that, could it be that the giant ghost bat still exists in the Flinders ranges. They were supposed to have gone with the diprotodon.
Anyway when I get a vocaliser working or made I will move to place the camera and also spend some time with my friend on a bat study. I am sure to get something with the camera even if it is foxes and feral cats. Good chance of a bigcat if the gadgetry is electronically inaudible to the critters, and heaven forbid, maybe a bobcat. Fingers crossed Wally Yeah we concluded that the fluro lantern must be sending out a signal audible to bats the word loud and clea,,"FOOD comme annd get it."

I wonder if it's that particular flouro, or did they use two different lights?
