The photo was shot in West Africa, you can see it here: www.edgeofexistence.org/edgeblog/?cat=15Sadly not a thylacine . It's a zebra duiker. Duikers are small bovids (not deers). They look primitive, like something out of the Eocene, but in reality they are highly derived and in some ways - large brains, omnivorous habits - oddly convergent on primates.
