Two thoughts come to mind. One,by definition, history is written, so aborigines have no history. Two, I doubt that more than three people in the entire country will feel a greater "spirit of unity".......but I could be wrong.

There are a number of troublemakers among Aboriginals mostly inspired by leftist agitators who want to destroy all democracies and create the world socialist state. The Aboriginals have no written history like ours but do have a record in various forms of native art, many dot paintings and strange markings ae actually stories and maps telling of journeys or guide for future travel. Circles and wavy lines represent rivers and lakes other signs can be trees, rock or animal habitat. Most of my Aboriginal friends/relatives don't give a toss about ethnicity my grandson says, "Dad's Aboriginal, Grandpa's a Jew but we're all Aussies dinkum through and through. He has been known to wear an Aboriginal flag T shirt while waving an Australian flag and sees no distinction in allegiance to either.
We have had three National Anthems in my lifetime, we were still just a British colony until 1948 and the Australian citizenship act our passports were British (Colonial), from 1948 until 1953 we had the choice, Australian or British, after which only Australian passports were issued. When I started School our anthem was God Save the King, we had a day off school when the King died and we sang God Save the Queen. Anti-Royalists then began pushing for a purely Australian anthem which was later chosen as Advance Australia Fair, I would have chosen God Bless Australia which has the same tune as Waltzing Matilda but the atheist leftists don't want God or the Queen.

Here's RT's take on the matter - and, yep, I have a fair idea what Vincent 🇺🇸 here will say. All I have to offer in reply to our American friends are the following points. #1 An ancient truisms says that our adversaries usually have a far more accurate view of us than do we ourselves. #2 Uncle Sam is in just as much strife with Wokeist lunacy as are we Aussies. I mean, c'mon?? Apologising to every lefty ponce in sight, pulling down Confederate statues, "cancelling" Lincoln etc etc .. the list is long. #3 I gave up on what we laughingly call our "news" services years ago. 🙄 #4 These days I tend to pick up my international news from RT 🇷🇺 and Twatter. So, there you have it. Looks like Thylacoleo has gone to the Dark Side? Beware! Russian agitprop inbound ....

If you're interested in the news from Russia, I've found that this is a more believable source: www.themoscowtimes.com/

Ta. Yeah, Moscow Times is ok for Russian news. The Barents Observer is interesting because of the insights it gives into just how hair-trigger the entire Kola peninsula and White Sea area is. The Epoch Times is good for China-watching, a subject of much interest Downunder. 🇦🇺 As I say, our "news" is worse than useless if you want to keep tabs on what's actually happening in the wider world. Trouble is, if one is seen to take an interest, for professional reasons, in anything Russia-related, especially in a Defence or NATO context, one runs the risk of being dubbed a "Russia lover"😒 ... Sure, we know all about Russian thuggery, Novichok and all that. But what are we supposed to do about it? Fact is, Russia exists. She is a major, major military power and could - would? - be an effective deterrent against China if only the West's policies were different. Trump seems to know this - but look what's been done to him.

Putin once put it in perspective when he pointed out that Russia had been the west's allies in previous wars and no matter what we think will try to uphold "Christian Values" although one of Vlad's teachers/mentors was a Rabbi neighbour and he is as willing to talk to Bibi as is Trump; there is common ground despite the differences.
